All right, all NM modules seem to require blogging to keep track of our progress.. I ought to have more initiative to blog and keep up with my own progress.. but kinda lazy switching between OS using different software etc.. and too occupied to be motivated to even blog religiously like some people out there..
Assignment 1 – Exposure Triangle
1) Motion Blur
Location: A cross junction between Clark Quay and City Hall facing the coloured building

Comments:
In order for the light trails to be nicer and cleaner, avoid panning motion. Have to mount the camera on tripod for more stability.
2) Deep Depth of Field
Location: Clark Quay, across the the river facing Riverside Point

Comments:
Using water as the foreground is tricky. (details of the water), Might end up as a SDoF instead.
3) Shallow Depth of Field
Item: Laptop Motherboard

Comments:
Would be better is the center piece with “Intel” is in better focus.
4) Freeze Action
Location: Fountain in the middle of Clark Quay,
Item: Water shooting up.

Comments:
Burnt white spots resulted from over processing. Water spurts turned out to look like dust and dirt.
Class Exercise 1 – Panning (Using S mode, shutter speed 13, Olympus E-pen 1)

P.s. i did not keep the original photo done during assignment, hence i took a new one.
Still have not get a hang of the panning motion. Although the taxi is not exactly very sharp.. but i guess the background is blur enough to make it count haha.
Class Exercise 2 – Look for the extraordinary within the ordinary… (Camera apps for mobile phone, Htc Desire)
1. Fire Hydrant behind the lift of AS6
Took this photo and made it looked abandoned than it already is. The idea behind this was seeing the fire hydrant in out daily life make it seems so ordinary, something that is just there, with the just-in-case mentality. But yet the extraordinary this item can do is to safe lives and buildings. Yet how many of us would pay attention to it. Not when it is placed at an area when people hardly walk past.

Comments:
Picture paints a thousand words but this picture does not display the context enough to allow viewers to get the idea at a glance.
Might be better if the picture captures the overall surrounding of the “abandoned” site.
